My written reflection on the Dia De Los Muertos Project: This project was all about learning more about Dia De Los Muertos for those of us who didn’t know much about it going into the project. I personally learned a lot more about how people individually celebrate their loved ones, because I’ve always knew about the big parties and parades to celebrate. Going into the research on this project I kind of knew why people celebrated Dia De Los Muertos, but I didn’t really know a lot about anything else.
After doing my research for my project I learned quite a bit more about Dia De Los Muertos. Some of which are the history and why people celebrate this holiday, kind of what goes into it and what people do at home to celebrate. My experience with this project was really eye opening to new cultures, it was fun to learn what specifically people do to celebrate this holiday. I don’t really know a lot about other cultures aspect on death so I don't really know what to compare this tradition to other than just the normal american funeral or memorial. |
This is a picture of my dia de los muertos offrenda at our exhibition on Tuesday.
